A Complete Victorian Cartographer's Cabinet

The map case is 1 1/4" x 1 5/8" x 1 5/8"
The sextant case is 1 1/4" x 1 3/4" x 1 1/4"
The instrument box is 3/8" x 2 1/2" x 1 1/4"

A stupendous Victorian cartographer's cabinet, fully stocked. Thecabinet is of mahogany with ornate Art Nouveau antiqued brass hinges and decoration. The fittings are also of mahogany. The feet are antiqued brass seahorses, and the cabinet has a magnetic closure.

The cabinet contains:
~ a foldable drawing board.
~ eight (blank) books on mapmaking and exploration, including Darwin's "The Voyage of the Beagle", Marco Polo's "Travels", "History of Cartography", Dunphy's "Classics of Cartography", the "Journals" of Lewis and Clark.
~ A terrestrial globe under a glass dome
~ a secretaire containing correspondance, some pencils, a pen and pencil set, a bottle of ink with a coral stopper, and a set of stationery.
~ a roll of "Daphne" drafting paper, a rolled celestial map, a leather pouch containing a Gunter's chain, a brass bottle with an undecipherable label
~ A mahogany box of drafting tools, including two triangles, two proportional dividers, an architect's (or possible an engineer's) rule, a protractor, a T-square, and a pair of dividers.

~ a map cabinet with three drawers: celestial, terrestrial, and oceanic. All contain miniature maps.
