Eena Deena is a counting-out rhyme, like eeny meeny miney mo. Counting-out rhymes, used by schoolchildren to eliminate players of a game, may have been, originally, counting-in rhymes, used by East Anglian shepherds to count their flocks at the end of the day.
I've used the words of this ryyme as animated shapes in a pastoral panorama that flows from night to day to night again, and from deserts to gardens to waterfalls, with the words of the old counting rhyme flying and tumbling through the sky.
